Region Master Gardener, South Holland, | Local Spalding, Holbeach and southwards | Interests I garden in 2.5 acres of flat fenland where I aim to be as self-sufficient in food as possible. I keep chickens and bees, and grow vegetables in long four to five foot wide beds cut into the grass. I also have a fairly large polytunnel and greenhouse to extend the growing season. I have 30+ apple trees as well as other fruit and nuts, so harvesting is almost as time consuming as growing.. As well as my garden, I love music, reading theatre-going, getting involved with my children and grandchildren and travelling.
