InterestsMy love of growing food began in my Granny’s garden where we used to gorge on soft fruit during the summer holidays. One of my happiest memories is of the glorious smell of her tomatoes in a hot greenhouse. I now have two young children and we have a small garden into which we have packed 11 different types of soft fruit and a greenhouse so they can share those fabulous experiences. We also grow veggies in my Mum’s garden and have an allotment plot. Gardening with the children is great but gardening alone is also a vital part of staying sane amid the pressures of being a parent. I am keen to pass on to other people a passion for growing that was given to me by my family.

InterestsI love sowing, growing and eating everything I can from the garden. The more free food my family and I can eat the better! I have been growing for 6 years and whatever the weather my favourite place is always to be found in the garden digging, weeding, planning and creating the next growing area. We are adding chickens to our garden soon mainly because I want free chicken muck for my compost heap...and of course delicious eggs will be a bonus!

InterestsI was inspired to grow my own vegetables as a small child when my Dad showed me how to plant my first peas, and it has never stopped! I have a smallholding just outside Boston where I grow fruit and veg and keep and assortment of poultry. Working full time and having a family means that I understand the importance of cheap good fresh food that is quick and easy to grow!

InterestsGardening locally can have an impact globally - I aim to have a simple life style which reflects my ecological concerns for the environment – seasonal produce, composting, encouraging wildlife, and using permaculture principles. Small is beautiful - I attempt to grow small quantities of fruit, vegetables and herbs and also make use of my creative and craft skills to make a pleasurable space for both wildlife and others in a small town garden – ceramic pots, bird boxes, water features, different colours, textures, scents etc. Horticultural therapy - I value the inherent benefits of gardening for health and pleasure. Purposeful outdoor activity with physical, mental and social benefits. I have experience of facilitating vegetable allotment, cooking and craft activities for groups with mental health and social skills needs. As a Master Gardener - I’m keen to mentor individuals, families and groups new to gardening or anyone who can benefit from the Schemes support. I’m interested to establish local groups to share gardening interests, knowledge, skills and resources.

InterestsI first got into veg growing at about 4 or 5 years old on my Dad's allotment. I remember being very keen to take charge of the Strawberry patch! Since then I've progressed from having a little veg patch at home to now having my own allotment. I grow all sorts of fruit and veg and nothing beats picking it, cooking it and eating it. So as well as gardening (and eating!) I like cycling, walking and generally being out in the fresh air enjoying the great British countryside.I look forward to passing on what I've learnt over the years to anyone who wants to start growing their own veg, whether it's a pot on the patio, a patch in the garden or just starting out on an allotment. I'll offer as much or as little advice and support as you need.

InterestsOutdoors is where I'm happiest, especially pottering in my garden. Then one day, I thought enjoyable as it is, I don't have much to show for all this pottering, so after some thought, I took a year to re-work my garden so pretty much everything now provides food or attracts friendly wildlife. My garden is pretty & productive now!

InterestsI love growing vegetables and herbs in my own garden that I have developing for around 10 years now. I also try to develop exciting recipes in my kitchen with the produce from my own garden. I collect and read as many books as I can on the subject of gardens and gardening - not only 'how to' books, but novels and autobiographical accounts too.

InterestsI love all aspects of gardening but especially growing from seed. I am continually amazed how a tiny seed will grow to a huge plant. I eat a lot of veg so growing my own means it is cheaper and fresher than bought in veg. It is my ambition to eat something that I have grown every single day. (A way to go!) I am also a dedicated recycler, I hate to throw anything out before I can find an alternative use for it. Love to garden Love to recycle Hate waste

InterestsI have been a gardener since I was a boy, Dad would get me doing the digging! Since moving into Sleaford 26 years ago I have been gardening in my allotment size back garden. I built a large greenhouse and fitted it out with 2 bench propagators. Veg growing has been the main aspect, but I do have an interest in growing flowers for baskets and containers. I grow a wide range of veg and attempt to be self sufficent throughout the year. We freeze produce, make jams, chutneys, soups & tomato relish. This past year I have enjoyed early retirement and am now employed in my garden 7 days a week. I've introduced six hens into the garden and their eggs more than meet our needs. So I now have the time to mentor new gardeners in the art of growing vegetables and look forward meeting them in time for the next growing season.

InterestsI love being outside and work as a gardener in the local community - less now since the kids! I have grown my own veg off and on since I was small but have had my own patch for the last 10 years. I enjoy being able to go out in the garden and find enough stuff to make my own meals with!

InterestsGardening has become increasingly important to me. It’s the perfect antidote to a busy life and there is nothing better than going into the garden, picking a selection of vegetables and herbs and creating a great meal. I am always learning from my garden and it changes year on year. This years successes have been the soft fruit. We had a bumper crop of peregrine peaches and amazingly had fresh red and yellow raspberries in late November – it does not get any better than that.

InterestsI think that there is nothing more satisfying than growing your own and the sense of achievement that goes with gardening. I’ve grown vegetables and most people’s summer favourite - strawberries for number years now and I’m keen to help and encourage other people to do the same. Along with gardening I enjoy the British countryside through cycling, walking and camping, I’m also a keen swimmer.

InterestsI'm married to your lovely coordinator Rick and I love my small but jam-packed garden with its chickens, veg patch and wildlife corridor, although I can't wait until Rick and I can afford our own acre of Lincolnshire where we can have pigs, bees and all the other things that aren't allowed on a council estate. Apart from that, I'm interested in social history - particularly the story of food and farming and enjoy researching historical recipes. I'm quite happy talking to groups, if anyone wants help with that, and very experienced working with children, teenagers and people with learning, physical or visual disabilities. Ooh, and after years of living in pokey rented accomodation I'm pretty good at growing in small spaces and using recycled materials.
